LENKA DELLA-PORTA
Lenka Della-Porta (b.2000) is a British Japanese visual artist and curator living in London. With a background in illustration she completed her undergraduate study at Camberwell College of Art.
Working primarily in graphite and charcoal, her practice explores the boundaries between personal experience, identity, and secrecy. She draws out characters and objects in surreal scenarios that function as the pages of a diary. Informed by memory and introspection, Lenka’s work observes the self in proximity her mixed heritage and diasporic experience regarding femininity, morality, and social culture. Her work visualises her dual exposure in her upbringing, challenging the contrast in her experiences: Childhood and adulthood, belonging and displacement, confidence and hypocrisy, truth and secrecy.

We are drawn to ideas about time passing and nostalgia; each experience is like a strip of fabric woven into a dissonant quilt. We yearn for places we moved away from, and for a familiarity that fades as our identities change along with our surroundings. Physical objects become our only means of preserving an intangible timeline, driven by a desire to immortalise our memories, experiences, and the spaces that shape them.
As the world and our lives unfold, we often feel disoriented by change - especially in moments of loss, when things no longer feel where they should be. Yearning becomes a constant when navigating change - one that spills into our creative practice. We search for the repetition in figures, symbols, and patterns we recognise, using them to connect with others and recognise shared experiences.
Points of Interest reflects on the isolation of adolescence and the unfolding of individuation, acknowledging how personal memories can resonate through a collective experience.
