With a background in illustration she completed her undergraduate study at Camberwell College of Art. Standing as the second group exhibition curated by Lenka Della-Porta, I’m Not Here For You&nbsp;treads the delicate line between identity and symbolism. Showcasing the works of London based and international artists the exhibition tiptoes between the playful and the melancholic, balancing the duality of collective and individual positionality. Like the flash of a gold tooth in a grin or the faded layers on a canvas that has been worked on over and over, there are equal measures of romance, danger, and deception in a reveal. It is up to the creator to decide what information is presented, and what information is kept hidden in disguise. Its loose ends are encouraged to be curiously pulled at without the assurance of knowing. The exhibition exists to not serve the viewer, instead standing as an independent entity where its roots and mythology are protected from the dissection of its audience. It acts as a catalyst in which viewers are invited to reflect inward on their own accord whilst simultaneously allowing the work to exist solely for the means of its true expression. To pick up the fragments ourselves, instead of being handed them. Invasive analysis is rejected, bringing to light just how much we rely on meaning to be spoon-fed to us as consumers. We yearn for places we moved away from, and for a familiarity that fades as our identities change along with our surroundings. Physical objects become our only means of preserving an intangible timeline, driven by a desire to immortalise our memories, experiences, and the spaces that shape them. As the world and our lives unfold, we often feel disoriented by change - especially in moments of loss, when things no longer feel where they should be. Yearning becomes a constant when navigating change - one that spills into our creative practice. We search for the repetition in figures, symbols, and patterns we recognise, using them to connect with others and recognise shared experiences.
